1 Summary

The short version: we don't collect your personal data. There is no account, no login, and no server that receives your photos. Everything that matters happens on your device.

2 Information we collect

Personal information: none. Similitude does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or contacts. We do not build a profile of you.

No analytics or tracking

The app contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no cross-app or cross-site trackers. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising, and we do not sell or share data — because we do not collect it in the first place.

Standard, aggregate information that Apple provides to all developers (for example anonymous crash statistics or App Store download counts) may be available to us through Apple only if you have enabled sharing in your device settings; this is controlled by Apple and never includes your photos.

3 Your photos and faces

When you scan a face or choose a photo, the image is analysed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision, Core Image, and Core ML frameworks to detect facial landmarks and compute a resemblance estimate or apply an artistic style.

• Photos are never uploaded to us, to a cloud service, or to any third party.
• We do not store your original photos on any server; there is no server that receives them.
• Results you choose to save (for example to the Resemblance Timeline) are written only to your device's local app storage.
• When you share or export a keepsake, the image is handed to iOS's standard share sheet — you choose where it goes.

4 The AI model and network access

The premium AI Cartoon Avatar uses an on-device machine-learning model. To keep the app small, that model is downloaded once to your device the first time you use the feature. This download fetches a model file only — no photo or personal data is sent in the request. After the model is installed, avatar generation runs fully on-device with no further network round-trip for your images.

Apart from that optional model download, subscription handling through Apple, and loading this website if you visit it, the app does not require an internet connection to compare faces or apply artistic filters.

5 Purchases and subscriptions

Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes your payment; we never receive or store your card details, billing address, or Apple ID. We receive from Apple only the anonymous entitlement needed to unlock premium features on your device. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

6 Children and family photos

Similitude is designed for families and you may compare photos of children. Because all processing is on-device and no data is transmitted to us, we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Photos of children are analysed locally and never leave the device. Adults are responsible for the photos they choose to use in the app.

7 Data retention and deletion

Because your data stays on your device, you are in control of it:

• Delete individual saved results or timeline entries from within the app at any time.
• Deleting the app from your iPhone removes all of its local data, including saved results and any downloaded model.
• There is nothing stored on our servers to request, export, or erase, because we do not hold your data.

8 Your privacy rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you — to access it, correct it, delete it, or object to its processing. Similitude does not collect or hold personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, sell, or delete on your behalf. If you believe we hold any information about you, contact us and we will respond.

9 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes we will revise the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app or on this page. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

1 Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using Similitude (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy above. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

2 Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment, in accordance with these terms.

3 Acceptable use

You agree to use the app only with photos you own or have permission to use, and only in lawful ways. You agree not to:

• Use the app to harass, defame, or violate the privacy or rights of any person;
• Upload or process images of people without an appropriate basis to do so;
• Use results to make decisions about a person's parentage, identity, health, or legal status;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or bundled models, except where the law expressly permits;
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the app or its outputs beyond ordinary personal sharing.

4 Entertainment purpose — no reliance

Similitude's resemblance percentages, feature breakdowns, "look-alike" notes, and avatars are generated for entertainment and family-keepsake purposes only. They are visual estimates produced by algorithms and are inherently approximate. They are not scientific, and are not, and must not be treated as, DNA testing, genetic analysis, biometric identity verification, medical or psychological assessment, or proof of parentage or family relationship. You agree not to rely on the app for any such purpose or for any decision of importance.

5 Subscriptions and billing

Some features require a premium auto-renewable subscription billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period's end. You can manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region; any free trial's unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

6 Intellectual property

The app, its name, logo, design, and software are owned by Rymoslite, LLC and its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Images you create with the app from your own photos are yours. These terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding.

7 Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that results will be accurate or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

8 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rymoslite, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or its results. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9 Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date reflects the current version, and continued use means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and the United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
